In honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day ... I give you some of my favorite romantic movies.
While You Were Sleeping
What's not to love? It's sweet, it's funny, it's romantic.
The Princess Bride
Again, funny, sweet and romantic. Did I mention funny?
Ever After
Hmmm... funny, sweet, romantic. I'm sensing a theme.
Notting Hill
Yeah.. sweet, funny and romantic again
The Saint
Okay, not sweet (exactly) or funny (really) but definitely romantic.
What about you? What movies would you add to my list? Keep in mind, I have to have a Happy Ever After (so don't suggest "Casablanca" or "West Side Story", please).
Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh man! Heck...Oh MEN!!! LOL! You had me at "While You Were Sleeping"! LOVE that movie- and made in Chicago-my hometown. My all-time favorite was also made in Chicago, "Return To Me". At first you'll cry, and then fall "Truly, Madly, Deeply" in love! Also: "Moonstruck"-you'll laugh AND love! "Roxanne"-the rapier wit of Steve Martin! Does anyone remember "Sandcastles" with Jan-Michael Vincent? I was a teen with a mad crush on him back in the day. Thanks for the sweet videos Marianne!
ReplyDeleteOh my... Moonstruck and Roxanne!!! I loved those too! And I can remember watching "While You Were Sleeping" over and over again on one of those 24hr pay per view passes about 12 years ago. I was working as a graphic artist at the time and I was on an 11th hour deadline. The movie playing behind me as I worked made me so relaxed, that my client said that he could feel the romantic vibe in my work. Talk about subliminal! I'm just glad I was working on a package design for a vacation club that catered to newly weds at the time!!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly chose the perfect muse Marianne-lol!
ReplyDeleteNobody yet has mentioned Much Ado about Nothing, with Kenneth Brannagh. It's funny and wonderful and I keep replaying it...
ReplyDeleteGood choices! I've seen Moonstruck and Roxanne and both are fabulous. Jean, I have to admit to never seeing "Much Ado.." which is odd because I love Shakespear AND Kenneth Brannagh. Will have to remedy that!
